Can You Get a Same-Day Plumber in Scottsdale?

Usually, yes. I'm Jerry, the owner and the only plumber at Pinnacle Peak Plumbing, and I answer my own phone from 7am to 7pm, Monday through Sunday. If I'm not tied up on another job, I can often be at your door the same day, and when I can't, I'll tell you straight when I can.
Why I answer my own phone
The complaint I hear most about this industry is that nobody picks up. You call three shops, you get three recordings, and somebody calls you back tomorrow to book you for Thursday. When there's water on the floor, Thursday doesn't help you.
I spent 23 years in the plumbers and pipe fitters union, including a stretch as foreman at the Nevada Test Site, before I moved to the Valley from Las Vegas and started Pinnacle Peak. Right now the company is me. I hold the license, I do the work, and I carry the phone. That's the whole reason same-day works here. The person you're talking to is the person who can get in the van.
Nobody plans for plumbing. A leak doesn't give you a sign most of the time, it just happens, and people aren't ready for that. I get it. My goal is to fix the problem and get you back to going.
What a same-day call looks like
Here's a recent one. At a property in Aquila at McDowell Mountain in Scottsdale, the expansion tank on the water heater burst after hours. Whoever put it in had installed it wrong, and it finally let go. I tracked the water back to the tank, made the repair, and got everything back in working order so it won't happen again.

Twenty minutes is the best case, and it happens when I'm close by and between jobs. I'm not going to tell you every call goes like that. Some days I'm already under someone else's sink, and I finish what I started.

What decides whether I can get there today
- Where I am on my schedule. I'm one plumber. If I'm halfway through a water heater swap in Cave Creek, I finish that first.
- How far you are. Scottsdale, Cave Creek, Carefree, Rio Verde, and Grayhawk are where I work the most. I stay within about an hour's drive. You can see the Scottsdale jobs I've done lately on my Scottsdale 85255 page.
- What broke. Some fixes happen on that first visit, like the burst expansion tank above. Bigger projects get planned and put on the calendar.
- Whether the water is off. Once you shut the water off, a flood becomes a repair that can wait a few hours without more damage.
What to do before I get there
- Shut off the main. On most city-water homes in Scottsdale, the shutoff is at the front entry where the line comes into the house, near the pressure regulator. Out in Rio Verde, a lot of homes are on hauled water or a well, so the shutoff is at your pump or storage system.
- If it's the water heater, close the cold supply valve on top of the tank.
- Move what you care about out of the water and take a few photos for your records.
What you get on the visit
- I trace the leak back to where it starts. The wet spot and the source can be in different rooms. On one Phoenix call, water was coming through the ceiling from the attic, and I followed it to a supply line feeding the fridge.
- I stop it, make the repair, and test it before I leave.
- If I spot something else, I tell you and you decide. At a Monterra home I noticed most of the angle stops were corroded and not working. I mentioned it, and the homeowner chose to replace them.
- One flat price before I start, for any of the services I offer.
- I cover the labor for a year.
How I price a same-day call
I do flat-rate pricing. I don't split labor and materials, and I don't run a clock. You get one price for the job before I start, and that's the price.
I know plumbing isn't cheap, and nobody budgets for it. I'm a one-man shop without the overhead of a big multi-truck company, and that's how I stay competitive without cutting corners.
Not every urgent call is a flood
Sometimes it's a faucet that finally gave up. At a home in Monterra, Scottsdale, hard water buildup had worn out the kitchen and bathroom faucets.
